Antique Brooch Scottish Bone Thistle

An antique brooch made from bone in a Scottish design.

A thistle sprig brooch with its leaves in the Scotland floral traditional flower.

The bone is white to a cream colour and animal in origin.

Medium to a large sized Victorian antique brooch approximately 55 x 35 mm.

C- shaped clasp to the reverse.

Condition - no damage noted only slight discolouring to the bone from use and age.

Great Scottish themed antique jewellery for a scarf, hat, to pin to clothes or for display.

Also fun to collect.

Bone jewellery carvers took advantage of a natural substance that was easily obtained.

So they were very popular in the Victorian and early years of the twentieth century, along with Scotland themed jewellery due to Queen Victoria.
