Ava Peron vintage cameo brooch

Ceramic vintage cameo brooch depicting the First Lady of Argentina Ava Peron.

Vintage cameo jewellery circa 1950s.

Probably produced shortly after her death in 1952

This large size cameo brooch is approximately 55 x 45 mm or about 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 inch

Oval in shape with a rope frame border in a gold metal

The cameo profile is a cream coloured ceramic stone with good detail to Ava's features

Patination to the metal and the rope border is a bit wonky from when made

C shaped clasp fastening on the reverse

Signed "Made in England" on the reverse side of the ceramic stone

We brought this English cameo from an antique's dealer who had been told it was Ava Peron.

Looking at the photographs of her with her hair down it has the same features.

So believe that this is a reproduction piece of her.

Certainly of the 1940s/1950s in clothing fashion

Quite an unusual vintage cameo brooch to collect or wear.
