From a long time ago to today, cameos have been captivating artists and designers.

They have been carved in semi precious stones, shell and Bakelite. It is cameo jewellery that reflects history, literature or legends. A cameo does not have to be carved to be called a true cameo. Stones that have a raised profile or image that projects above the background are legitimately called a cameo.
