Just to let you know that my order for 3 brooches and pair of earrings arrived very promptly and I'm thrilled - they are all exactly as described in both colour and condition and beautifully packed. I'm now eyeing up the 'Mother' brooch (I've got quite a few; like the 'heart' brooch, it's one of my themes) and the leaf & chestnut brooch, to buy with my discount code.

In case you're worried, I'm not a dealer, just an avid collector! Someone told me many years ago that as a woman in business you should always wear a brooch on your dress or jacket - it's the feminine equivalent of wearing a medal and speaks 'authority' to those you're dealing with, but in a subtle way, and I've followed that maxim ever since and wear one every single day. I now have a large collection of brooches and pins, including cameos and other victoriana, but my favourite period is art deco through to the forties/fifties. With my husband I'm a WW2 re-enactor, so the red, blue & white earrings screamed 'forties' at me and will be ideal when I wear my Rosie the Riveter swing pants and polka-dot blouse, complete with turban. I'm just devastated that you'd already sold the Carmen Miranda tutti frutti earrings before I could nab them! I shall pass on your details to some of my friends on the 40's scene, as it's the 'bits & pieces' that really set the seal on an authentic-looking 40's costume.

I went into Manchester for a meeting on Thursday and wore one of your brooches (the pale green enamelled leaf one), stopping off to have a browse around the shops in St. Annes Square. A young sales assistant stopped me and admired the brooch, asking if it was vintage (I know a lot of young women are into vintage acessories as a way of customising their outfits). We had a chat and I confessed to my 'addiction', saying I'd been collecting for over 20 years, but there was still stuff out there at an affordable price. She wanted to know where I'd got it from and I told her, so she wrote down the name of your website and hopefully you'll gain another happy customer. I think your prices are very fair and although your photographs are good quality you are also open and honest about the condition of some of the items in your text, with the information on fastenings being particularly useful to those of us who want to actually wear their finds, as opposed to just looking at them. Your site is a 'gem' and I'm so glad I found it!
