An antique bar brooch in mother of pearl with the name MOTHER on.

Late Edwardian or early twentieth century antique jewellery called novelty.

This type of antique jewellery was very popular in the last 25 years of Queen Victoria's reign up to the end of World War One and most likely mass produced in Birmingham UK.

Mother was amongst the most popular name.

This brooch piece is about 45 x 10 mm in size.

Silver coloured name with a brass under clip clasp fastening.

The antique brooches mother of pearl (MOP) is shaped and quite thick.

MOP was used for memorial especially mourning pieces. 

Condition is very good.
