Prince of Wales feathers vintage brooch in mother of pearl - vintage jewellery from Jewels and Finery UK

Interesting hand made vintage jewellery/antique jewellery in a Prince of Wales feather's design.

Mother of pearl shell fashioned and engraved brooch, dating to around the first World War period.

Size is about 30 x 33 mm with a silver coloured under hook pin fastening, typical of the 1910 to 1920 period.

The mother of pearl shell is quite thick and a lovely darker cream colour with the multi coloured effect.

Hand crafted brooch with small tacks used to hold the fastening.

Condition is very good.

Our initial thoughts is that this was made to be worn as sentimental antique or vintage jewellery.

Maybe for a soldier in a regiment that had the Prince's feathers in their insignia.

This gives a mocha - coffee - blue - mauve colour to this piece of antique jewellery that change when light reflects.
