It was the mid 1920s when vintage dress clips first became popular. A dress clip or clips were worn singularly or in pairs on a dress neckline, top, coat or jacket to add decoration. This form of stylish vintage jewellery remained popular until the 1950s.Vintage dress clips were made as one piece (Ciro Pearls made just one clip) or made as a pair. They can also be found on a brooch frame mechanism so that they can be used as clips or as a brooch. The names for these were in fact trade names such as "Clip Mate", "Duettes" and "Double clip brooches"
